Linda and children came at 11:30 a.m.  They had lunch here then she went to Sears to exchange Christmas gifts.  They didn’t have a suitable sweater to replace one the Jim’s gave me so she got a refund.  She also exchanged things at Goldblatt’s.  She got another dress to replace one Lois & Pat gave me – added $1.30.  She came back here – we had coffee and apple dumplings.  I mended and sewed buttons on Carol Chilton’s clothes and Linda took them home as she was having them for dinner tonight.  Emma Shepard came for her outfit this afternoon.

Carl Ostermeier called on me at 11 a.m. – gave me 1 qt. egg nog and ½ gal. mint stick ice cream.  How very generous and thoughtful.  We had a nice time reminiscing.  Linda came at 2 p.m. and left children here while she went to hair appointment.  Mary Ellen and Christy came earlier to get M-W receipt for blanket I gave Christy.  It was for a crib and she ordered a bunk-bed size.  She went to Goldblatt’s to get money refunded for Jill’s outfit and clerk wouldn’t do it.  She came back here and phoned credit department  – they said she could have the money, so went back and got it.  Ronda Bentler brought skirt to be altered this a.m.  Hilma went to church with Louise at 6:45 p.m. and came back at 8:00.  Lorene came at 7:45 and left at 10 p.m.  She brought 3 loaves of “day-old” bread.  Hilma and I made a loaf of date nut bread.  I altered Ronda’s skirt and restitched Bob Chilton’s pants (3 pr.).
